My weekend was wonderful! Of course we were looking forward to Sunday not only because it was Father's Day but it was also our Anniversary. Our 1st Anniversary as husband and wife. It's was a wonderful day. Oh, I got a hydrangea bush (same light blue color we used in our wedding) as my gift and we are going to plant it at our new place. My hubby can be sooo thoughtful when he wants to be.
Monday we found out from the mortgage underwriters that we needed to have our septic and well tested...rememer we were supposed to close on the 30th! THANKS UNDERWRITER LADY FOR DELAYING OUR MOVE! She wanted these tests b/c the new place has been vacant for almost a year...guess she was concerned over our drinking water? Who knows, anyway...Monday was not my day thanks to her. I am just so ready to get moved and I had plans of doing a July 4th cookout and my birthday is the 2nd so now you know why I wanted to be in our new home.
Tuesday...we started having trouble finding people to call us back for the water test...my DH was having a bad day then. Our best friend, B, works for a septic company who agreed to do the septic test for free! YAY! That made my DH a bit happier.
Wednesday...well, I forgot to mention that on Monday we found out that HUD had not sent the signed contract to our realtor for the closing (our place was a HUD forclosure)...and the lawyers had not signed their paperwork either so our closing date is now July 7th! Sucks but hopefully we really can close on the 7th. We also went to Raleigh and had a company that is state certified test our water (it will actually take about 10 days...hope they hurry) and that cost us $117! Ouch to our pockets...that was money we wanted to have to paint our new place with...oh well. We must be able to drink our water or else the painted walls won't matter if we got sick from bad water, right?
Thursday...the day is still going and so far no surprises. We are both just exhausted from the underwriters requests and my mother-in-laws cancer.
Update on her is: she has begun chemo, she was sick for a day (no nausea just tummy issues) and she is actually gaining strength back on her left side and is in better spirits. She is staying awake longer and she seems almost back to her ol' self. We know that there is still a long road for her to travel during this but we are praying that she can make a recovery. Sadly, we think the doctors are not ever going to do surgery b/c it's in her brain so far that surgery will not help. My DH found out a few days ago that it has spread to another part of her brain but we don't know much more than that. I hope the chemo helps her.
