Ready to say Good-Bye to Winter

(ignore the dates on the pics as it's wrong on my camera for some dumb reason)

It's been a while since I've written because well, February was a sick month for me and my family. Right after my last post, I got really sick for a week and then my daughter, KeKe, got sick. Sadly, she is still trying to recover. She has a nasty nose full of green gunk and a cough that started late last week (she also missed her ballet class, which she enjoyed). So, yes I am ready to say good-bye to winter.

This morning we woke up to about 3 inches of snow. I am sure KeKe will enjoy playing in the snow as she has been able to play in it several times this year already. In our area of NC, we rarely see snow so it's very exciting for us when we get it but at the same time, eveything outside our home is CLOSED! We usually try not to drive in it unless we have to. Our temperature was 30 degrees at 7am and our high today is only 33 degrees. We were told that the morning commute tomorrow will be bad also because of black ice. It had rained all day Saturday and Sunday, so I know that's why there was black ice this morning causing tons of accidents on the road. I was smart...I called my boss and advised him that I would not be coming in. It scares me to think about getting on the road, getting into an accident and possibly harming me or my daughter just to make my boss a few dollars...NOT gonna happen. Oh, the snow does look lovely by the way and KeKe is excited now that she's awake.

Anyway, after my little family of 3 was sick most of February and March is starting off cold and full of snow, I am getting excited to know that Spring is just around the corner and winter will be a memory for the next 8 months. By this Saturday, the temperature is supposed to be around 72 degrees and I am soooo happy!

To all those getting pounded with snow today, I hope you stay safe and warm. To those that didn't get any....LUCKY for YOU!!! Hope everyone has a great day and hopefully all the colds and flu bugs will be gone soon for you and your family.
