The Days of My Life

The days of my life...are full.

Every Monday through Friday, my day consists of me waking up, getting ready for work, waking KeKe up and getting her ready and rushing out the door. I wake up around 6am and leave at 7am to head to the sitters...an hour later I am at work. I work everyday from 8am to 1pm, every minute there is busy! I am busy every minute there with taking calls for me, returning calls for me from the previous day, invoicing, dealing with accounts payable stuff, writing checks for office supplies or job materials or reimbursements, filing folders after the invoices are done, running credit cards through, payroll and so much more. Then when I leave work, I may or may not grab lunch (b/c I am trying to watch our pennies for the new house), then head to the sitters and I am home an hour later. Well, if KeKe hasn't already taken a nap, the I get to deal with clingy "hold me, I don't want to lay on the couch" as soon as I get in the door b/c she ended up falling asleep on the way home. Well, then I deal with that for an hour or so b/c her attitude goes downhill when I lay her down anyway. Don't get me wrong, I do hold her...some days, but she is 3 and I do have chores to take care of. So, when the attitude perks up, I talk to her about her day and ask her what she'd like to do (which is usually to watch Hocus Pocus). Well, mommy needs to get stuff done around the house, so what do I do...I let her watch Hocus Pocus. That gives me a good hour and a half to clean... I mean SPEED CLEAN! After the movie, its usually about dinner time and sometimes she helps and sometimes she goes to her room to play. After dinner and cleaning up dinner, we usually spend the remainder of the night on the couch reading books, playing games online or I get to be a baby and she is my granny. She takes very good care of her baby and even brings me a small baby blanket and a babydoll bottle. She is so sweet. Anyway, after playtime, which is usually around 8:30pm I try my hardest to get her in the bath and in bed by 9pm...NEVER happens though. You want to know why?

Well, it seems my KeKe is so strong-minded that she can make herself stay up late as 2am just to go against my wishes for her to lay down and go to sleep. She can make up excuses for anything, she will find things to talk about, she will even pull the occasional "I'm hungry" or "I'm thirsty" or "there's something hiding in the closet! She is a drama queen daredevil with no fears...even the evil eyes she gets from me when she won't be quiet and go to sleep. I believe she just loves to talk...she is truely a GIRLY GIRL. And I love her...every bit of her.

Anyway, the days of my life are continuous. There was a beginning...3 years ago and there will never be an ending...EVER! She will be part of my days forever. There is no instruction manual and some days there is no appreciation award, and I will be right here the next day ready to start these days all over again. There are times when I need a break but she is a part of me that I will never get rid of and she will always be in my heart...and so my breaks are not ever completely away from her. My thoughts are always on her...what is going on the next day, what does she need, does she love her life, am I raising her the right way, do I let her get away with too much? Whatever my day has going on and no matter how tired I may be...I am KeKe's mommy. I will help her anyway I can. The days of my life are HAPPY!
