Well, thankfully things got better. The first part of last week was still rough but we are all better now...at least mood-wise anyway! So in case ya'll were wondering I haven't fell of the face of "blogging", we have become House Hunters.
We went Thursday and had our taxes done...boy is the IRS going to be happy to how much we owe (thanks in part to my DH being sel-employed) but it did help the mortgage company with our loan. We have looked at several properties over this past week and I think we have decided on an area. So now the search is on for the house...I mean, our HOME!
We looked at one yesterday that we were happy with but the driveway was like a ski slope...not what I want with a 3 yr old. She was actually trying to run down the driveway which was scary. I just had visions of her tripping and rolling down that driveway and scraping that beautiful face of hers. I think I will pass on this place just because of the driveway.
On Friday, we went to see a property we LOVED! What we didn't like was the bedroom sizes and the drunk neighbor. We could probably live with both and it was on almost 2.5 acres! I love land with trees because that means nobody is able to be right up on me. Around the Raleigh area, there are lots of homes that are cooki-cutter homes and sit on top of each other. I am sorry but I really don't want to look out my kitchen window into someone else's home. So, we are looking in more rural areas with privacy. As for as this house though, the rooms can always be added to at a later time (since there is so much land) and we can plant trees to rid ourselves of the drunk neighbor. The south is full of drinking but a yankee that is drunk and hitting on the realtor was not what I was looking for that day. (No, I do not have a problem with yankees, one of my good friends is one but I don't think it was appropriate for him to come over and be RUDE! That is not how we work in the south. So, anyway, if we choose this property, trees and probably and tall fence with divide us from this neighbor, plus my 3 yr old doesn't need to hang out with a drunk.
So, we are also going Monday afternoon when I get off work, to look at some more properties. We love Franklin County but are considering part of Wake County.
Oh, did ya'll know that the FDA gives out home loans in rural areas...with 100% financing! And the best part is you don't even have to own a cow or plant an ear of corn! It can also help if you are out of work for an injury, b/c it doesn't require a payment to be made until you return to work. This loan is certainly going to help some people in this economy.
Ooops...one more thing. KeKe is a ballerina at home but hates ballet class! She walked out about 10 times on Wednesday from her 45 minute class. She now wants to do drums and no ballet! Poor me! My baby loves Pink (the music artist) and has memorized her song "So What" and tells us she is a rock star....my girl can be whatever she wants but since ballet is paid for...she will be a ballerina rock star! lol
Well, hope everyone has had a wonderful weekend. We have had lots of sun but the temps dropped back to the low-mid 60's and its kinda cool outside. I like the high 60's and 70's. But I know that it will only be a matter of time before the warmer air will be here.
